Memorandum of Understanding

UGA Alumni Association Mission Statement: The UGA Alumni Association advances the academic excellence, interests and traditions of Georgia’s flagship university by inspiring engagement through relevant programming, enhanced connections and effective communications.

 

UGA Alumni Association Vision Statement:  To be the heart of the University of Georgia creating meaningful connections for lifelong engagement and support of the UGA family worldwide.

 

All chapter leaders must submit this Memorandum of Understanding annually to be eligible for official UGA Alumni Association recognition and receive support and services from the UGA Alumni Association. 





As a chapter leader, I agree to represent the UGA Alumni Association in the following ways:
 
  1. Be aligned with the UGA Alumni Association mission and vision statements.
  2. Fulfill the expectations of an alumni chapter to the best of my ability.
  3. Provide relevant and mission-centric programming for diverse interests and age groups.
  4. Preserve the brand of UGA and the UGA Alumni Association in all communication.
  5. Use listserv communication and alumni data appropriately.
  6. Maintain the activity of the chapter’s social media pages or groups.
  7. Allow UGA Alumni Association staff to be an administrator on all social media platforms maintained for official chapter promotion.
  8. Assist in the transition of the next chapter leadership.
  9. Treat fellow volunteers and staff with respect an honor at all times.
  10. Raise funds for the UGA Foundation and/or the UGA Alumni Association Scholarships to the best of the chapter’s ability.*


*Only applicable to Champion chapter leaders

As an official chapter leader, I agree to the following:
 

  • I agree to carry out the UGA Alumni Association mission in the ways outlined above.
  • I recognize that the UGA Alumni Association may replace any chapter volunteer at any time if necessary in order to best serve the mission and vision statements listed above.

As an official chapter leader, I understand the following:

 

The UGA Alumni Association staff members will provide resources and support to volunteers and chapters as they are able, and as outlined by the UGA Alumni Association


  • The alumni chapters staff will provide training and onboarding for chapter leaders.
  • The alumni chapters staff will provide consultation for event planning to ensure appropriateness and mission focus.
  • The alumni chapters staff will support all approved events and activities by sending supplies, and promotional emails for events that are planned within the time frame appropriate for event success.
  • The alumni chapters staff have final approval authority for all chapter events.
  • The alumni chapters staff may provide financial support for chapter related business (events, marketing, etc.).
  • The alumni chapters staff will manage the official web page for each chapter.
  • The alumni chapters staff will supply a chapter logo that is trademark compliant.
  • The alumni chapters staff will send a monthly chapter leader email listing important information, opportunities, and resources.
  • The alumni chapters staff will provide access to a Facebook network of fellow chapter leaders.
  • The alumni chapters staff will provide access to a chapter listserv that will allow direct communication with alumni and other constituents who have opted into the listserv.
