Application procedures:

3.  Attach a current Curriculum Vita (see below).  

4.  Attach a letter of support provided by a Dean or Department Head (see below for details).

Program Requirements
Learning community meetings are integral components of the program. The Special Collections Libraries Teaching Fellows Program requires participants to attend a kick-off session on Tuesday April 29, 2025 (Reading Day); eight workshops sessions May 13-16 and May 20-23, 2025; independent research and course planning during May 27-May 30, 2025; and a four-day institute June 2-5, 2025. Below are the details for all meetings for the 2025Special Collections Fellows program:
 
  • SCL Fellows Welcome and Orientation: Tuesday, April 29, 2024, 1-7 p.m.
    • 1-5:30 p.m. orientation sessions
    • 5:30-6 p.m. SCL Fellows Reunion Reception
    • 6-7 p.m. SCL Fellows Reunion Dinner
 
  • SCL Fellows Workshops Series:
    • Tuesday-Friday, May 13-16, 2025, 8:30-1 p.m. 
    • Tuesday-Friday, May 20-23, 2025, 8:30-1 p.m.
 
  • Independent Research in Special Collections and Course Design Meetings with Special Collections Instructional Team:
    • Tuesday-Friday, May 27-May 30, 2025, 9-4 p.m. 
 
  • SCL Fellows Institute:
    • Monday-Thursday, June 2-5, 8:30-1 p.m.

Purpose Statement
In a statement of not more than two pages, please address each of the following:
  1. What is your teaching philosophy
  2. What are your specific reasons for applying to this program?  
  3. What experience do you have using primary source materials in your research or teaching? (prior experience is not required) 
  4. Describe a course where you have introduced new approaches or novel resources. 
  5. What unique contributions would you make to the fellows community?
